My Rating: 5 APPles

Here in Spokane, WA we have been having a crazy winter. With over 5 feet of snow in just over two weeks I have become very familiar with this excellent app for the IPhone. This application puts the power and information of weather channel in the palm of your hand.

On the opening screen you are able to quickly review current conditions for your favorite locations. This quick view provides you with information about temperature, winds and wind chill.

It is easy to set a variety of different locations which you can visit easily. Want to see what the weather is like before you head out on your business trip, just type in the city and you will have a full forecast.

Near the bottom of this page you find that the application provides you with a variety of ways to see the forecast for your area.

Here you can see the option for the 36 hour forecast. Here the app provides you with a short synopsis of the upcoming weather with key information about the likely hood of parcipitation, accumulation, temperatures and winds.

The hourly option allows you to see hourly temperatures and percipitation for the next 24 hours, and the 10 day forecast provides a quick overview of the next 10 days so that you can find the best opportunity during the week to get outside.

Further down on the page you will find a black menu bar that provides you with some powerful information resources. My personal favorite part of this application is the "Explore Map" feature. By selecting this option you will get to view a map of your selected area and see a visual picture of what is happening in your area and what is coming.

If you know a storm is headed your way you can use the Explore Map feature to identify it's current location and to get a overview of what you might be traveling into. During our recent snow storms I kept an eye on the radar to see how much longer the snow may be falling and how the the storm was tracking.

If you click on the i button in the lower right hand corner of the Explore Map view, you can chose what you want to see on your map. Maybe you want to see snow accumulation in your area, or temperatures across your region, all you have to do is select the statistics that you want mapped, click "Done" and the map will redraw with the information that you would like displayed.

Another very useful tool is the "Severe" menu item which provides you with the written severe weather warnings and watches for you area. Finally you can watched streamed video of you local forecast by selecting the "Video" menu button. This is one feature that I find somewhat corny.

The Weather Channel App is really easy to use, is very stable and provides you with a mini weather station right on your IPhone. I would highly recommend replacing the weather application that came with you IPhone with this power house application which is provided to you at no cost by the weather channel.

IPhone Mastery - Screen Shots

I just learned that you can take a screen capture using an easy key combo. Just hold down the home button and press the power button briefly. If you hold it for several seconds, the phone will soft reset, but if you just press and release, you'll see the screen flash and an image will be stored in your photos folder.

No Bad APPles is my I Phone app review site to share input and feedback on I phone applications that catch my attention. I had no desire in the past to have a smart phone and laughed at everyone and the Blackberries. That was until the new Iphone 3G came out and I had a chance to learn about its great features.

The thing that amazed me about the I phone was the Apps that were available to you at a reasonable cost. I was very impressed with the depth of the IPhone apps and quickly became hooked. While there are other IPhone application review sites, I hope to provide you with reviews of applications that you might not see on other sites based upon my unique hobbies and interests.

I personally like applications that will assist you in the business world. Productivity applications are of particular interest to me and I have an interesting background in productivity management. I also am very into sales and I am interested in reviewing applications that will help sale people meet and achieve their goals.

On a hobby side I enjoy wood working, geocaching, hiking, mountain biking, cooking, reading and much more. There are many great applications for many of these areas that you do not see reviewed.

If you are looking for reviews on games or applications that allow you to turn you Iphone into a $200.00 snow globe then you are in the wrong place. If you are looking for tools that will help make the mundane fun, help you enjoy your life and hobies, achieve your goals at work and with your family then you have definately come to the right spot.

I will help you sort the Good APPles from the Bad APPles
